The memory portrait of my grandmother and her best friend comes with the story I wrote of their love of soaps and gossip ~ and my teeny, timid grandmother's quandry of the love of a good story and her desire not to hear anything bad told about anyone. "If you can't say anything good about someone, don't say anything at all." How many times did she say that?
